Three storey shop gutted

 A three storey shop in Weligama town was completely gutted in a fire on Friday, Weligama Police said.

Mattresses, vehicle seat covers, domestic appliances and other items were sold at the shop. The cause of the fire is not known. The fire had spread to two floors of the building.

The Matara fire brigade doused the fire with the help of residents. Heavy traffic was also reported due to the crowd who gathered at the spot. The fire erupted around noon.
