Castor seeds send seven children to hospital

Seven children of Oluvil in the Addalaichenai Divisional Secretariat division, who ate Castor (Amanakku) seeds picked from the ground, developed food poisoning symptoms, and were admitted to Oluvil District Hospital on Tuesday.

They were transferred to Kalmunai Ashraff Memorial Hospital. District Medical Officer, Oluvil Dr.A.R.Mohamed Ali said investigations were on to find out the cause of the ailment. Eastern Province Health Minister A.L.M.Naseer visited children at Kalmunai Ashraff Memorial Hospital.
