The Criminal Investigation Department yesterday (27) told Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajinda Jayasuriya that the DNA tests related to the
alien biological samples related to the death of the Janashakti Group Director Dinesh Schaffter have been completed. These samples were taken from the zip tie and necktie of the deceased. In order to identify these alien biological samples, blood samples were taken from Brian Thomas, a friend of Schaffter, the persons who admitted Schaffter to the Colombo National Hospital, ten members of the medical staff as well as 27 police investigation officers for DNA testing.
The Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that the Government Analyst had informed them that the DNA investigation to identify the alien biological sample had been completed. The Government Analyst has also informed the CID that the investigations related to Schaffter’s mobile phone have also been completed. The Magistrate ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to immediately obtain all the forensic reports from the Government Analyst and produced them in court.
