Cash found at President’s House: Summons issued on SDIG Deshabandu quashed

The Court of Appeal yesterday issued a Writ Order preventing the hearing of the personal complaint filed against Western Province Senior DIG Deshbandu Tennakoon in the Fort Magistrate’s Court related to the case of Rs.17.8 million recovered by protestors inside the President’s House on July 9. An order was also issued invalidating the summons issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court naming him as a suspect.

The Court of Appeal issued these Writ Orders while declaring the verdict in the Writ Petition filed by the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Western Province, against naming himself as a suspect in the incident.
