The Panadura Walana Central Anti-Corruption Squad raided six massage parlours that were run as Ayurvedic massage parlours in Malambe, Kaduwela and Talangama in collaboration with high ranking police officers and 31 suspects were arrested including 25 young women. Police said that these brothels did not have licences.
A police officer said that the raids were carried out on a search warrant from the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court. The brothels were open at night as well.
Six police teams participated in the raids. Police said that the suspects and managers were presented to the Police Stations in respective areas and Courts.
