Eleven Star Sports Club, Thampaddai beat Real Metrix Sports Club, Addalaichenai in the final to emerged champions and bagged the ‘Champion Trophy’ of the limited over cricket tournament conducted by Maruthu Sports Club at the Tharmasangari Public Play Grounds, Alayadivembu recently.
Altogether 48 prominent cricket teams from the area participated in the tournament.
Thanujan of Eleven Star SC was awarded Man of the Match while Shanthan of Eleven Star SC was adjudged the Man of the Series. The Best Bowler of the tournament trophy was won by Nirojan of Champion SC and the Best Batsman of the tournament trophy was won by Shanthan of Eleven Star SC.
The winning team of the tournament received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 apart from the trophies and the runner-up team received a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 apart from the trophies. Trophies and cash prizes for winning teams were distributed by the guests on the occasion.
