Lakshitha put Sri Lanka A in command

Sri Lanka 'A' Off spinner Lakshitha Manasinghe had a fine figures of 5 for 19 as South Africa 'A' were bowled out for 131 in 40 overs in the first innings when the second days play halted with bad weather in their first four day game played at Pallekele International cricket stadium yesterday.

Sri Lanka ' A' scored 325 all out on the first day while yesterday the game started with one hour delay due to rain but it couldn't continue as expected and when South Africa 'A' were 55 for 2 wickets rain once again halted play and two umpires Prageeth Rambukwella and Ruchira Palliyaguruge decided to get early lunch .

However game resumed after lunch and South Africa 'A' top order couldn't make good start as left arm paceman Dilshan Madushanka did early damage.

When spinners Lasith Embuldeniya and Lakshitha Manasinghe introduced to attack South Africa 'A' batters were struggling and Lankans domineted with making good pressure.

Matthew Breetzke was the only successful batter who scored an unbeaten 59 with 93 balls with 5 fours while Keegan Peterson (19) and Dewald Brevis (16) were the only other batters completed double figures.

Lakshitha Manasinghe who took bowling honours for Sri Lanka A finished 5 for 19 in his 10 over spell while paceman Dilshan Madushanka 3 for 31 and Lasith Embuldeniya 2 for 61 played good supporting role and Sri Lanka 'A' already having 194 runs lead once again expected to bat tomorrow, the third day to have a big total to put pressure on opponents.

The game was halted 2.52pm yesterday due to bad weather and today and tomorrow the match will commence at 9.45am each day.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka ' A ' head coach Avishka Gunawardena and Assistant coach Thilina Kandamby were back to Colombo yesterday night for the LPL auction while Upul Chandana the fielding coach and spin coach Sajeewa Weerakoon will do as Acting head coach and acting Assistant coach for Sri Lanka A team and Gunawardena and Kandamby will join the team once again tomorrow (15).
