Singer Tony Hassan’s funeral held

Veteran singer Tony Hassan, who became very popular for singing Hindi songs, passed away at the age of 73. Remains lay at his house in Maligawatta, and the final rites were performed at the Maligawatte Muslim Burial ground yesterday evening. He entered the field at a very young age and got first place at a concert held in Salve Island. Tony Hassan was a renowned playback singer and was also popular among Sri Lankans for his ability to sing Hindi songs.
