Many May Day rallies and events were be held in Colombo yesterday. The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) May Day celebrations under the theme, “Let’s defeat challenges and realise aspirations” was held at Campbell Park, Borella
The the UNP’s May Day celebrations were held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
The procession of the Samagi Jana Balawega (SJB) May Day rally held under the theme, “Country’s struggle springing from the workplace” commenced from the P.D. Sirisena Grounds, Maligawatta and proceeded towards the A.E. Gunasinghe Ground, Colombo where the rally was held.
The May Day rally of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) was held in front of the Kandy Central Market.
The National People’s Power (NPP) held its Red May Day rally under the theme, “Let’s defeat the tyrannical regime that sells the country and build a people-friendly administration”. The NPP held its meeting near the Viharamahadevi Park.
