I am really happy with my batting performance and as an opener my knock gave me big boost said Sri Lanka's new opener Nishan Madushka after fourth days play at Galle yesterday.
"I am very confident after making runs at Galle. Being a wicket keeper batter I'd like to come as a top order batter," said Madushka.
"Actually my first school Moratu MV coach Prasanna Dissanayake, my Master In Charge and Principal gave good support. I was attached to Colts CC first and then Pasan Wanasinghe sir invited me to join with Ragama CC as a wicket keeper batsman. My present club Ragama CC' s former president Roshan Abeysinghe, present president Roshan Iddamalgoda and our Manager Hiran Gunasekara, coaching consultant Keerthi Gunaratne, coach Thabara Abeyratne always back me to come forward. My dedication and commitment paved the way to enter the National team", added Madushka.
"National skipper Dimuth Karunaratne gave me good support as both skipper and Kusal Mendis gave me good tips to build up the innings as my partners during my innings", said Nishan Madushka.
"I always give my hundred present to the team. All my team mates give good support. My special memories goes back to the day I scored 264 not out against Kent as a emerging team member. I have completed 1000 runs for Ragama CC at the last three day major club cricket tournament and then completed double century against England Lions as a Sri Lanka A team player at the same Galle grounds. This is my second double century at Galle which is special as this is my maiden Test doubles century. I am proud to achieve this milestone just in my third Test. I wanted to give special thanks to my parents who always support me, added Madushka.
"Batting a long innings is not easy but I have good patience to build up the innings and play my usual game. I always have good confidence on my batting and looking forward to do well, added Madushka
