The Chairman of Ideal Motors Naleen Welgama handed over three locally fabricated Combat All-Terrain Vehicles to Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters on February 22. Ideal Motors has fabricated these special vehicles to suit the operational needs of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Adopting an idea mooted by the Navy Commander, this special vehicle has been designed in such a way that it could tackle most of the terrains with ease during operations.

Accordingly, the Combat All-Terrain Vehicles will be put to good use especially in beach patrols, search operations and other operations mounted by the Sri Lanka Navy Marines to curb illegal activities in coordination with law enforcement agencies, in due course.

Deputy Chief of Staff and Director General Operations Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake, Commandant Naval Infantry Rear Admiral Jalaj Ponnamperuma, Director Marine Commodore Sanath Pitigala, senior officers from the Navy Headquarters and representatives of the Ideal Motors were present on the occasion.
