The Chinese Buddhist Association and the Fa-xien Trust commenced distributing 50,000 packs of dry rations worth US$ 1 million among the needy in Kandy last Thursday. The Welfare Society of Maradana Road, Hendala donated equipment to the newly constructed cancer hospital in Ragama and made a financial donation to the Verbum Television. Money for the donations was collected from the Society members’ house to house Christmas Carols and other financial contributions.
