‘Aragalaya’ activist dies in hospital

An ‘Aragalaya’ activist who was receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital (CNH) after being injured while trying to forcibly enter the President’s House in Colombo Fort on July 9 last year passed away yesterday. 

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old D.L.Jayasena, a resident of Matara.

The Fort Police say that this person is a retired soldier and he had also worked at a private security firm.

He is said to have suffered serious head injuries while attempting to enter the President’s house.He had been discharged from hospital after treatment and recently once again had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to complications with regard to the injuries he sustained.
