International Rotary Club donates medicines worth Rs. 60 mn to Sri Lanka

The International Rotary Club donated a stock of drugs worth Rs 60 million to Sri Lanka yesterday.

Rotary International President Jennifer Jones officially handed over the aid to Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella at the Ministry.

Among the aid provided to Sri Lanka by the International Rotary Club in coordination with UNICEF are drugs for high blood pressure of pregnant mothers, drugs needed during childbirth and a stock of drugs for skin diseases of kids.

This is the first step in the programme of providing essential medicines to Sri Lanka by the International Rotary Club and measures will be taken to provide such medicines in the future as well.

UNICEF Representative in Sri Lanka Christian Skoog and a group of officials from UNICEF, Rotary District Governor – Sri Lanka and Maldives Pubudu de Soysa, Health Ministry Secretary Pubudu De Zoysa, Coordinator of the Health Ministry’s Covid-19 and drug donation Janaka Chandrigupta and Dr. Anwar Hamdani were present.
