Football election on January 14

The Football Sri Lanka (FSL) Elections for 2022/23 will be held on January 14 at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports in Colombo.

Meanwhile, the nominations for the FSL elections, which will be valid for only five months, will close on December 20, the three-member FSL Election Committee announced yesterday.

The FSL Election Committee is headed by Retired High Court Judge U. L. Majeed (Chairman) and the other members in the committee are Retired High Court Judge Bandula Atapattu and Retired Senior Government Officer Siripala Medaweva.

Meanwhile, the FSL Election Committee has suspended the voting rights of Kandy, Kurunegala and Akkaraipattu Football Leagues and have authorised the voting rights of Gampola, Kilinochchi and Government Services Football Leagues.

Therefore, a total of 62 Football Leagues are eligible to cast their vote at next month’s FSL elections.
