A selected number of officers from the Police Department had completed a special beginner course of Russian Language at the Russian Language School of the Russian House in Colombo for the first time in the history.
They were awarded certificates on October 7 at the Russian House in Colombo by incoming First Secretary of the Russian Embassy Anastasia Khokhlova and Director of the Russian House Maria Popova along with Chief Executive Officer of the Russian House Buddhapriya Ramanayake. Educational and Public Relations Officer of the Russian House Venurika Jayasinghe and Russian Language Instructor Felix Fernando were also present.
A few representatives from the Police Department including Deputy Inspector General of Police Sajeewa Medawatta, Senior Superintendent of Police Manjula Mahagirilla, Chief inspector Panduka Rajakaruna and Police Department Director Research Planning Kamini Senaratne were also present.
