Cashier gets away with Rs.6.2 Mn

Police are on the lookout to arrest a cashier of a wholesale grocery store in Fourth Cross Street, Pettah for the alleged theft of Rs.6.2 million belonging to the shop.  

The suspect had stolen the money from the cash drawer, put it in a bag and put potatoes and onions on the top to conceal money. He had then left the shop stating that he was going to meet a relative in Dehiwala.

The suspect is a resident of Bagawanthalawa and was employed as the cashier of the shop about one and half years ago. There had been Rs.7.1 million in the cash drawer, and the suspect had stolen Rs. 6.2 million.
