Brave Sergeant gets promotion, cash reward

Sergeant Buddhika Kumara of Thambuttegama Police station who thwarted the armed robbery near a private bank in Thambuttegama on Monday will be promoted to the post of Sub Inspector in appreciation of his service.

The relevant recommendation in this regard has been forwarded to the IGP by the SSP in charge of the Anuradhapura Division.

He will also be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs.2.5 million by the Police Department.

Senior DIG in charge of the North Central Province W.K.Jayalath has decided to provide the assistance of the police officers to complete the construction of the residence of this police officer located in the Eppawala area.
