Ministry to fulfill fuel requirements for UN humanitarian programmes

The Ministry of Power and Energy will fulfill the fuel requirements for the relief and humanitarian programmes carried out by the United Nations, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said yesterday (16).

Minister Wijesekara, in his official twitter account stated that he had a discussion regarding the matter with UN Sri Lanka Resident Coordinator Hanaa Singer-Hamdy. The tweet stated, “Fuel requirements for the Food Security Relief programs and Humanitarian programs with the financial assistance of the United Nations was discussed with the Resident Coordinator yesterday. MOPE will provide the necessary assistance for the programs to be implemented.”
