Hundreds throng to see Lotus Tower

Hundreds of people including youth began visiting Lotus Tower when it was opened for the public from yesterday. With the opening of the Lotus Tower to the public anyone can visit it by buying tickets for Rs. 500 and Rs. 2,000 each.

It is also stated that the ticket fee for foreigners is US$ 20.

The Lotus Tower will be utilised for various purposes including tourism and communications getting the assistance of investors. So far, both the local and foreign investors have expressed interest in joining the Nelum Kuluna investment projects. Accordingly 22 investors have expressed their interest to enter into contracts, Chief Administrative Officer of Nelum Kuluna Private Company retired Major General Prasad Samarasinghe said.

Schoolchildren are charged only Rs. 200 per head and the management of the Tower said that time will be allocated for schoolchildren when they receive requests at school level.
