The Government is illtreating me and those who supported me during the election of the succeeding President, MP Dallus Alahapperuma has informed Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in a letter yesterday (19).
The Government has taken steps not to re-elect MPs who supported me in the election to the Parliamentary Committees, Alahapperuma has pointed out to the Premier.
The letter further said that Alahapperuma condemned these moves. It further suggested that all those MPs who revealed the shortcomings of the Government are mistreated.
The letter also said that while the President speaks about working together, he is repressing his opponents.
Alahapperuma had pointed out that he, who had been a member of many Parliamentary Committees for an extended period of time, had not been re-appointed. This, Alahapperuma pointed out, as an uncivilized political culture. Alahapperuma also noted that his main supporters such as Dilan Perera, Charitha Herath and Nalaka Godahewa have also been deprived of being in Parliamentary Committees.
