Education Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera told the Daily News that the Education Ministry has made arrangements to offer teaching appointments to the teacher trainees who have passed out from National Colleges of Education countrywide after completing their Teaching Diploma Courses for the academic years 2017–2019.
These trainee teachers have been appointed to meet the current shortage of teachers in both National and Provincial Schools countrywide.
The names of these appointees have been uploaded to the Ministry website www.moe.gov.lk.
Letters of appointments to the national schools will be given by the principals of these schools when the trainee teachers report for work tomorrow (May 4).
The trainees who have been appointed to Provincial Schools have to get their appointment letters from the respective Provincial Education Secretaries, Prof. Kapila Perera said.
