School buses to begin from Monday

The ‘Sisu Sariya’ bus service for schoolchildren with 1,500 buses will resume its normal operations from Monday after a long lay-off due to the COVID pandemic.

National Transport Commission Chairman Shashi Welgama said with the re-opening of all grades in schools that were closed due to the COVID pandemic, all student buses will resume operations from Monday. He also said that these buses will operate while strictly adhering to COVID health guidelines.
