The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested a suspect in possession of nearly two kilos of the stimulant drug ‘crystal methamphetamine’ known as ‘ICE’ worth over Rs.20 million in a raid carried out at Wanawasala Road, Wattala in the Peliyagoda Police Division.
The suspect had been riding a motorcycle in violation of the quarantine curfew and police had found the drugs in his possession when they stopped him to question his purpose of travel. The arrested suspect is a 30 year old resident of Grandpass in Colombo 14.Police have seized 2 kilograms of ice, a mobile phone and a motorcycle in the suspect’s possession.The suspect has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations on from where the suspect obtained the drugs and to whom they were being taken for sale and how much of such drugs had been smuggled in the past.The value of the seized Ice is over Rs.20 million.
