Dr. A.R.M.Thowfeek, who has been serving as the Medical Superintendent of the Welisara Respiratory Disease National Hospital assumed duties as the Provincial Director of Health Services (Eastern) at the Office of the PD in Courts Road, Trincomalee on Friday.
Dr.Thowfeek, who is native of Sammanthurai, has also served as the Medical Superintendent of the Ragama Teaching Hospital, Negombo District General Hospital and the Laboratories of all hospitals under the purview of Health Ministry. Former Provincial Director of Health Services Dr. Alagaiah Lathakaran , Trincomalee Regional Director of Health Services Dr.V.P.Premananth , Medical Officer Dr. Dr.Arul Kumaran and several other Medical personnel were present.
