The Ministerial Committee appointed to study the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) on the Easter Sunday Terror Attacks will hand over its report to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Monday, Committee Member Minister Prasanna Ranatunga said.
Addressing a meeting of SLPP party members at the Minuwangoda SLPP office yesterday, The Minister said the report will be published after it is handed over to the President. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa recently appointed the Ministerial Committee to study in depth the findings and recommendations in the report of PCoI and to advise on the next course of action.
The Committee headed by Minister Chamal Rajapaksa comprises Ministers Johnston Fernando, Udaya Gammanpila, Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga and Rohitha Abeygunawardena.
Earlier, the report was to be handed over on March 15, but the Committee sought two more weeks’ time to analyze the PCoI Report extensively.
The Ministerial Committee expects to hand over their report to the President on Monday before the Cabinet meeting.
The Minister further said the government wants to bring Easter attack culprits to book and prevent such incidents in the future.
