Sri Lanka Lyric Writers Society met up again at the New Town Hall auditorium recently for it’s second general meeting. The main topic under discussion was a lyricist’s rights to his or her song and author rights. Oscar Youth Society took up the discussion and it was highlighted that the members need to work together with them to solve this matter. Family members of the late veteran lyricists Herbert M Seneviratne, George Leslie Ranasinghe, Ranbanda Seneviratne, Claude De Soysa, Panyapala, Aloy Gunawardena, Siril A Seelawimala, Upali Danawithana and K D K Dharmawardena were awarded membership of the society. Society Presidents Dr Ratnasri Wijesinghe, Secretary George Robinson de Silva and Treasurer Bandula Nanayakkarawasam organized the event. National Coordinator Keerthi Pasquel too attended.
