‘Parliamenthu Sara Sanhitha’ launched in Parliament

The Department of Communication of the Parliament of Sri Lanka launched the 1st journal publication ‘Parliamenthu Sara Sanhitha’ today (25) at the Orientation Seminar held for the Newly Elected Members of the 9th Parliament, stated the Department of Communication.

The Secretary General of Parliament, Dhammika Dasanayake presented the journal to the Chief guest of the event, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Deputy Chairperson of Committees, Angajan Ramanathan, the Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando and the Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella.

The publication was then distributed among the novice MPs attending the Orientation Seminar organized by the Parliament Secretariat.

Parliamenthu Sara Sanhitha consists of journal articles covering a wide range of information with regards to Parliamentary proceedings, traditions and history. The publication intends to serve as a resource book for the benefit of the novice MPs.
