The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will form a government with the majority of seats at the forthcoming General Election on August 5 and the Muslims will be a major part of the SLPP victory, SLPP Mulsim Federation National Leader, President’s Counsel Ali Sabry said.

He was speaking at a political meeting in support of the SLPP Digamadulla candidates at the Kalmunai Town Hall recently.

The meeting was coordinated by the SLPP Digamadulla District candidates Asfer Udumalebbbe and Rizly Musthafa. Ali Sabry said the SLPP will win the election and requested the Muslims to vote for the winning party so that the community could reap the benefits of the victory. Former Minister M.H.M. After his demise, the Sir Lanka Muslim Congress spilt into many groups and internal fights among them began, he said.

Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, SLPP Muslim Unit National Organiser and former Central Provincial Councilor A.L.M.Uwais Haji and former Higher Education Deputy Minister Myown Musthafa were present.
