Postal voting begins in Batticaloa

Postal voting for the 2020 Parliamentary Election began in Batticaloa, yesterday, with nearly 300 government officials visiting polling centres.

A total of 12,815 public servants, including Tri-Forces personnel, have qualified to cast postal votes for the upcoming Parliamentary Election; 7,342 of them are from Batticaloa, 3,047 are from Paddiruppu, and 2426 are from Kalkuda.

According to the Election Commission, all government servants engaged in election work will vote today and tomorrow, while other government servants will vote on Thursday and Friday. The police, Tri-Forces, and other government servants will vote on Friday and Sunday.
