The ‘Udawalawa Tourism Fiesta’ programme organised by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Tourism Ministry aiming to popularise tourist locations and destinations in the Sabaragamuwa Province began in the Udawalawa area last week.
The Sabaragamuwa Province, which enjoys a moderate temperate and salubrious climate throughout the year, has many tourist attractions and destinations. Among these, various tourist sites such as waterfalls, cave temples and many more.
The Pinnawala and Udawalawe Elephant Conservation and Orphanages are also world-famous. The Sabaragamuwa Province is also rich in scenic waterfalls such as Bopath Ella, Asupini Ella, Alupola Ella and many more.
It was significant that unlike the previous occasions many local and foreign tourists actively participated in the Udawalawa Tourism Fiesta 2024.
The aim of this festival is to popularise these tourist destinations among local and foreign tourists.
Tourism Ministry Secretary Sanjeewa Godellawatte, Planning Director Ruwan Premaratne and a group of others participated.
