Sri Lanka’s amateur champion Jevahn Sathasivam of Asian International School clinched both the Gold Division and Overall Championship titles at the PRIMA Sunrise Bread Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship, which concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club yesterday.
Sathasivam’s remarkable performance, with a total gross of 213, an even-par score, secured him the Gold Division Boys title. He finished slightly ahead of Adithya Weerasinghe, who posted a total of 214, one-over-par, to claim the first runner-up spot.
Sri Lanka’s number two amateur golfer, Reshan Algama of Colombo International School, took the second runner-up position with a total gross of 219.
In the Girls’ division, Kaya Daluwatte emerged victorious in both the Gold/Silver Divisions and overall, posting an impressive four-under-par 212. Daluwatte’s dominant performance earned her a massive 65-stroke lead over the runner-up, Anumi Karunatillake, who posted a total gross of 277.
In the Silver Division Boys category, Kaiyan Johnpillai secured the title with a gross total of 221, edging out first runner-up Thejas Rathiskanth, who finished with a gross total of 223.
In the Bronze Division Boys, Revann Amarasinghe took the win with a gross total of 163, with Lavindu Premarathne following as the runner-up with a score of 164. Divyeshz Silva finished as the first second runner-up with a total of 195, while Danik Daluwatte was third with a gross of 200.
In the Bronze Division Girls, Genuli Weerakoon won with a total gross of 200, while Vihara Herath claimed the runner-up spot with a gross of 211.
In the Copper Division Boys, for the fourth consecutive year, Jaeden Sathasivam of Asian International School claimed the top spot with a total gross of 98, ahead of runner-up Yuvan Rathiskanth, who posted a score of 99. Jayith Guruge finished third with 119, and Abiman Abeywardhana took fourth with a gross of 124.
In the Copper Division Girls, Ananya Kishanthan took the win with a gross total of 124, while Dilkini Kangara was the runner-up with a total of 128.
