Vivekananda National College, Colombo, celebrated its much-anticipated Annual English Day 2024, Aurora at the school main hall recently.
The Chief Guest was D.S.R.M. Premasirirathna, the DDE of English from the Zonal Education Office, Colombo, and the Guest of Honour was S. Chandramohan, the Chief Academic Officer of ICBT Campus, Colombo. The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Lydia Daniel, the school’s English Coordinator, and the leadership of the school Principal, M. Muventhan, the school deputy Principal, Shanthakumar, and the Vice Principal, Gunasunthar.
The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including drama performances, public speaking, and creative writing presentations. A highlight of the evening was the participation and support of the Old Students’ Association (OSA) of Vivekananda National College. The school expresses its gratitude to the OSA and all other sponsors.
Special thanks are also extended to the parent community for their invaluable support. A Parents’ Committee formed ahead of the event helped raise the necessary funds.
As the school approaches its 100th year of excellence, the event served as a reminder of the institution’s legacy and its ongoing commitment to nurturing holistic development among its students.
