Transfers for five DIGs, 35 SSPs, seven SPs and seven ASPs

Five Deputy Inspector Generals, 35 Senior Superintendents including four women SSPs, seven SPs and seven ASPs have been transferred by the National Police Commission.

Among the officers who have received these transfers is ASP Neville Silva, who was the Acting Director of the Colombo Crimes Division, a place that has caused controversy in the past. He has been transferred for regular duty at the Police Field Force Headquarters.

Senior Superintendent of Police Indika Lokuhetti has been appointed as the new Director of Colombo Crimes Division.

Apart from this, Janaka Kumara, who was working as the Acting Director of the Western Province South Criminal Investigation Division, has been removed from that position and assigned to normal duties. Superintendent J. H. M. N. Jayapatma, who was working as the head of Ampara Division, has been appointed as the Director of that division.

Seven SSPs, SPs and ASPs who have been engaged in the posts of Heads of Police under Divisional Police and Directorates in charge of various departments have not received any responsibility and have been deployed for normal duties through these transfers.


Four women SSPs to head CID, SIU, FFHQ and Police Hospital

For the first time in the history of the Sri Lanka Police, four women officers have been appointed as the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), as the Commanding Officer of the Police Field Force Headquarters and as the Director of the Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU), which conducts investigations into police officers.

SSP H.W.I.S. Muthumala has been appointed as the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). She previously served as the Deputy Director of the CID.

Senior Superintendent of Police Darshika Kumari, who is working as Deputy Director of Computer Crime Investigation Division of Criminal Investigation Department has been appointed as Director of Police Field Force Headquarters (FFHQ).

Senior Superintendent Lanka Rajini Amarasena, who was working at the Police Headquarters, has been appointed as the Director of the SIU.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Madara Ariyasena has been appointed as the Director of the Police Hospital.
