The Sri Lanka Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai launched Ceylon Spices into the Indian high-end market at an eight-day event themed “Savour Sri Lanka networking’ hosted in collaboration with Fairfield by Marriott International Airport Hotel in Mumbai.

The event sponsors included the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Bureau and Sri Lankan Airlines. The marketing would be done by Hari: Bol, renowned for marketing A3 Ahimsa Dairy products both in India and globally and this initiative will result in Ceylon spices soon being available in India’s premium supermarket chains.

They hope to empower farmers and consumers through sustainable rural micro-economy models. Associated with ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), Hari: Bol has been working with the Sri Lankan Consulate in Mumbai since mid-2023, coordinating meetings with the Spice Board, farmers, and exporters in Sri Lanka.

The highlight of the evening was the Sri Lankan Food Festival and the event attracted approximately 150 guests, including Consuls General from the British Deputy High Commission, Japan, China, the United States of America, Australia, South Korea, Israel, Vietnam, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, Mauritius, Chile, and Iran. Also in attendance were prominent figures from Mumbai’s senior bureaucracy, business, tourism, Bollywood industries, and leading supermarket chains.
