Princess Anne will arrive in Sri Lanka on a three-day official visit from Wednesday, January 10 as part of the events being held to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom (UK) and Sri Lanka.
Princess Anne will be joined by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. This trip will represent the first overseas tour for the Royal Family in 2024. While in Sri Lanka, Anne will meet local communities and faith leaders in Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna. The Princess will meet President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and other political leaders during her stay. Princess Anne visited Sri Lanka in 1995 when she was acting as Patron of Save the Children, to see the projects conducted by the charity. The King and Queen have also travelled to Sri Lanka – as Prince and Princess of Wales – for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2013. – Tatle
