Colombo South registered two wins in tandem in their Prima sponsored Sri Lanka Youth League Under 15 cricket Tournament which was worked off in Colombo recently. Meanwhile Kandy and Galle too registered one win each. This tournament is sponsored by leading nutrition company, Prima for a record 16 th year in running.
Colombo South beat Galle by 166 runs in their first encounter and then went on to complete their second win when they got the better of Colombo North by 23 runs to continue their winning streak. Royalist, Rehan Peiris stroked a brilliant century against Galle scoring an explosive 101 inclusive of 11 boundaries and 3 huge sixers.
Meanwhile Hemaru Dilshan of Holy Cross Kalutura took 5 wickets for the winning team being simply unplayable. In their second win Rasandu Silva of Prince of Wales representing Colombo South took 5 wickets with some fine bowling.
Kandy led by Kingswoodian, Kenula Pihilianga beat Dambulla in their only game played so far. Meanwhile Galle beat Dambulla by 28 runs in the game reduced to 23 overs.
Dambulla and Colombo North are yet to register any wins while Kandy and Galle got one win under their belt. Leading the league at present is Colombo South who are maintaining their record with 100 percent success winning both their games.
The event aims to identify and groom the cricketing prodigies for future national players are once again fortune to have Prima as the sponsor during a tough economic conditions around the globe.
