Drug Regulatory Authority Bill to be submitted to Parliament
Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said in Parliament yesterday (16) that the Drug Regulatory Authority Bill will be submitted to Parliament and adopted immediately.
The Minister said that the committee has submitted a report regarding the deficiencies in the Medicines Regulatory Authority Act and the amended Bill will be submitted to Parliament.
The Minister said this while replying to the question by Member of Parliament Jayantha Samaraweera expecting oral answers.
A committee had been appointed to amend the existing Act. The committee comprises experts Dr. Hasitha Wijemanna, Dr. Palitha Abeykoon, Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama, lawyer Raja Gunaratne, Professor Sisira Siribaddhana, World Health Organization representative Chintha Wijemanna, and Dr. Wasantha Bandara.
