The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has netted Rs.220 million from fines imposed on errant traders, so far this year.
CAA media spokesperson Asela Bandara said that these fines were collected from traders nabbed for illegal actions such as selling products at high prices, illegal stockpiling, not displaying prices, and selling expired products.
He said that 22,000 raids have been conducted throughout the country and 19,000 of them have been prosecuted.
