Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday, Nov 15, that an amount of Rs. 8 billion has been allocated in this year’s budget for the overall research conducted in the country, including research in the university system.
The Minister said that research is the reason why the ranking of the university system has risen and that there is a shortage of 200 million rupees in the allocation of money for research in the university system for the year 2023 compared to the year 2021.
The Minister said this while replying to the question by the National People’s Power Councillor Dr. Harini Amarasuriya anticipating an oral answer.
