Cabinet paper submitted to make Railway Dept. an Authority

Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said in the Parliament today that the country can establish an effective and efficient railway service, by making the Railway Department an authority.

A cabinet paper has been submitted to make the department an authority and establish a decentralized administration instead of an individual-centric administration, e-ticketing system, GPS.
