MAKAWITA – Mrs G.R. (a retired Teacher) wife of late retired Principal – Mr P. Widanagama who lived at No.08,​ Rahula Cross Road,​ Matara,​ mother of Renuka,​ Champika,​ Sanjeewa and Mirani,​ mother-in-law of Hemal,​ Ajith,​ Woshika and Lasantha,​ grandmother of Isuri,​ Janidu,​ Vihagi,​ Diduli,​ Navini and Venudi,​ passed away. Last rites will be done on November 8,​ 2023,​ today at 3.30 p.m. at the Matara Public Cemetery. 0777900486.072282

SIVALINGAM – DR SELLAPPAH – Born in Varuthalaivilan (Tellippalai) and now at 18,​ Pamankade Lane,​ Wellawatte,​ beloved husband of Bhuvaneswary,​ devoted father of Sivalogan,​ Sivakumaran,​ Yoga and Nanthini,​ loving father-in-law of Ananthy,​ Subathira,​ Ranganathan and Sriskanthan and precious grandfather of Kasthuri & Luxmi,​ Shivan,​ Brahvan,​ Ashwin & Arjun,​ passed away at the age of 97 years,​ after a brief illness,​ on the 4th of November 2023. Dr Sivalingam was the beloved son of the late Mr & Mrs Sellappah,​ son-in-law of the late Mr & Mrs Kanagasabai,​ brother of late Ratneswary Nalliah,​ of Thanaluxhmy Kandiah and late Saravanalingam,​ brother-in-law of late Vickneswary Kanagaratnam,​ late Gnaneswary Kathiravetpillai,​ late Suguneswary Rajasundaram,​ late Satguru,​ late Gnanaguru,​ late Sivaguru,​ Ganeshaguru,​ late Rajeswary Thiagarajah and late Kumaraguru. Dr Sivalingam will be remembered by many and will be dearly missed by his family,​ including his loyal and faithful dogs – Sandy & Rex. Visitation will be held at Jayaratne Hall A,​ Borella on Tuesday,​ 7th of November from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Hindu ritual services will take place at Jayaratne Hall A,​ Borella on Wednesday,​ 8th of November from 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. followed by Cremation at Borella Hindu Section thereafter.
