Nevidu and Chanithma – Squash Champs

Nevidu Lakman of D.S Senanayake Vidyalaya Colombo and Chanithma Sinale of Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya Colombo emerged junior champions at the 34rd Ritzbury Junior National Squash Championship held recently at Air Force Squash courts in Ratmalana.

Nevidu Lakman defeated Sehath Perera of Royal College Colombo at the junior boys final while Matheesha Wijesekara also from Royal won third place.

Meanwhile Chanithma Sinale won the girls final defeating her schoolmate Themini Palliaguru to take girls title at this event

Nilupul de Silva the General Manager Marketing CBL Foods International Pvt ltd said last 15 years Ritzbury gave their support to promote this sport while every year participants are increasing and their talents also much improved. This year with an improved 40 percent participation age group under 9,11,13,15,17 and under 19 boys and girls events were conducted. The tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation.

Dhammika Wijesundara the President of Sri Lanka Squash Federation, Secretary Eranga Alwis, Ritzbury Group Manager Aruna Liyanapathirana and Eranda Geeganage Vice President of Squash Federation were present at the awards ceremony.
