Keerthibandarapura Wildlife officials have arrested four suspects along with 308 kg of bull meat and 2.5 kg of mouse deer meat in two three-wheelers in Welikada Warillagama area belonging to Victoria, Randenigala, Rantembe sanctuary.
Wildlife officials said that in this raid conducted on the basis of information received from the site assistant officer Hashan Randika, three 12 bore firearms and two rounds of live ammunition, a knife and a torch were found in the three-wheelers said to be used for hunting animals.
The arrested suspects are people between 35 and 43 residing in Rikillagaskada and Hanguranketha areas.
Site Assistant Officer Hashan Randika said that steps will be taken to present the arrested suspects and case goods in court.
