An organized gang member and an international drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka alias Harak Kata has planned to escape the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 10.
However, a CID officer stopped Harak Kata from escaping and the Police Constable who helped Harak Kata to escape, fled from the CID in the vehicle that came to pick up Harak Kata.
This escape plan was planned by another organised gang member called Midigama Ruwan who is in another country. After the failed attempt, under the instructions of Midigama Ruwan, suspects took steps to hand over the car to the owner in Matara on September 11.
