Bandaragama Police arrested the drug smuggler for allegedly attacking an official of the Water Supply and Drainage Board with a shovel when the latter arrived at his house to disconnect water connection due to non payment of the water bills for several months.
Police arrested the suspect after he surrendered to the Bandaragama Police station yesterday. An NWSDB team led by a foreman arrived his house as the total outstanding bill was Rs.32,000.A Board employee had disconnected the supply on the advice of the foreman.This suspect in question had reached him and started attacking him.
Thereafter the suspect had taken a shovel and threatened to kill if he does not restore the supply. The foreman after being frightened had directed his team to restore the supply and made a compliant to the Police regarding the incident. The suspect had fled the area.
