Leader of the House Minister Susil Premajayantha yesterday presented the Auditor General’s report on the T20 cricket tour to Australia in 2022 to Parliament.

Accordingly, approval for the printing of the relevant report was given in Parliament yesterday.

Speaking after the presentation of this report, the Chief Opposition Whip MP Lakshman Kiriella said the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has given Rs.36 mn to five sports clubs for suing the Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe. He also said that there is a plan to remove the Sports Minister from his post.

Chief Opposition Whip, MP Lakshman Kiriella further said a special audit report has been submitted regarding the SLC. We had a debate last week. The accusations we presented that day have also been approved in this final report. Minister Roshan Ranasinghe also accepted these things that day. He thanked us. What happened now?. The Government urged him to leave from his Position because he accepted the allegations made against the SLC. Is it fair to ask the Minister to resign without taking actions against the irregularities of the SLC? This audit report also says to sue the Minister. Rs.36 million has been given to five sports clubs to sue the Minister. Why not send this SLC to the Committee on Public Enterprises. You can see the disaster that has happened to cricket. I urged the government to do an investigation soon.
