Gampaha High Court Judge Sahan Mapa Bandara yesterday (19) ordered the Weeragula Police OIC to submit an investigation report to the High Court on Sanjeeva Kumara alias Ganemulle Sanjeeva, a suspect involved in many crimes who is said to be detained by the Weeragula Police.
A criminal case pending against him before the Gampaha High Court was summoned by attorney Lakshman Perera through a motion and requested that the Weeragula Police be ordered to present the suspect to the Court as he is detained in the Weeragula Police Station.

Officer in Charge to submit only a report about him to the High Court without issuing an order to present the suspect. Police officers of the Weeragula Police were not present before the Court and the High Court Registrar was also ordered to inform the Weeragula Police Officer in Charge about that.
This suspect, who is involved in many criminal cases, was arrested recently when he came from Nepal using a fake passport.
He is detained under a ninety-day detention order. Further investigations are being carried out.
