Court annuls Gazette declaring coconut land as temple property

The Court of Appeal issued a Writ order cancelling a gazette notification that was issued declaring a private coconut land in Pokunuvita area to be a religious land belonging to the Pokunuvita Kithsiri Mewan Rajamaha Viharaya. This has been stated by the Court of Appeal while allowing a petition filed challenging the relevant gazette notification. This judgement was announced by D.N.Samarakoon and Neil Iddawela. Thilini Ratnayake, a resident of Horana Pokunuvita area has filed this petition.
