NPP not decided on Prez candidate still - MP

NPP MP Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, said that no decision has been taken yet on the National People’s Power Presidential candidate.

The MP said that a Presidential election has not yet been announced and added that the Presidential candidate of the NPP will be officially announced after that.

When asked if the leader of the NPP Anura Kumara Dissanayake will be the candidate for the Presidential election, Amarasuriya stated that usually the Party Leader would run for it.

She said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake is a successful leader and he has all the qualifications to run for a Presidential election.

But she also said that an official statement can be made about who will be the candidate of NPP in the upcoming Presidential election after taking an official decision as a Party.
